When you fall I’ll be the only one who looks away

View of Liverpool from the corridor in our hotel – Coke tastes much better in a glass bottle! – Primark I loveee you! – The nicest pizza on the entire planet – Being cultural – Starbucks is a given really – The most random and also slightly strange thing I’ve ever seen anyone for money – Goodiesss!

I’ve rarely posted about anything relating to life recently, my weeks have been pretty much the same and I haven’t done anything that exciting to post! I did make a little last minute trip to Liverpool at the beginning of the week which was lovely! Liverpool is one of my favourite places to go and I haven’t been since last September so another trip had to be made!

We stayed overnight so it was only a short stay but we managed to squeeze in lots of shopping, a standard trip to Starbucks, sightseeing around Albert Dock and a visit to the Museum of Liverpool. We’ve been before but it’s free to get in and it freed some spare time before we had to get the train back home. I didn’t take hardly any photos, the trip was far too short and the main aim was just to shop!

Truffle chelsea boots

I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect pair of black boots for ages but the other day I finally found them. The Topshop ‘Allegra’ are the nicest boots I’ve ever seen but rather large price tag put me off a little. I forgot about looking for a cheaper alternative until I found the perfect copy on Shoebou.

They are so cheap at £16.99 and are basically the exact same pair compared to the allegras only so much cheaper. The allegras aren’t available online anymore, I’m sure you might be able to get a pair on eBay but if you’re after a pair I’d definitely recommended buying these.

I bought a 5 since my feet have gone down from a 6 because of losing weight. They don’t have zips on the side so I did panic a little thinking I wouldn’t be able to get them on but they are pretty easy to both get on and off.  Despite having a big(ish) heel with a platform they are really easy to walk in, I never wore them shopping with my grandparents and they were fine.

I was really pleased with the delivery too. Shoebou promise to dispatch your order the same day if you order before 3pm and I bought mine around 11.30am on a Friday and I received an email at around 1.30pm saying they’d been dispatched. I didn’t really expect them to come the next day (being a Saturday after all) but they did and I’m super happy with them!

Benefit World Famous Neutrals - 'Easiest Nudes Ever'

I mentioned last month that I bought some Benefit goodies after my birthday as a little treat. A £70+ treat nonetheless. The new World Famous Neutrals palettes had just come out and the girl working at the Benefit counter let me pick which one I preferred before testing it out on me. I’m not really sure why this one stood out to me but you can create really simple looks, both for day and night.

I don’t think it’s that bad value for what you get; two of their Creaseless Cream Shadows and four of the Longwear Powder Shadows. It also has two tips in the box, one look for day time and a look for night time, using the shadows in the kit. I’ve been using this a lot since it’s really easy to build up a day time and night time look. I persoallaly think the price is a little steep for what it is, but Benefit do charge around £13-£25 for most of their stuff so it's understandble

Which one is your favourite out of the three?

Drop Dead wish list

I bought my first Drop Dead t shirt when I was a 16 year old wannabe scene kid. Anyone remember the rib cage and the ‘Mosh and Roll’ t shirts? I have my fair share of vintage Drop Dead stuff kicking around although I haven’t bought anything for a good few years.

The brand has really upped their game (well done Oli!) and producing pretty good stuff that even the typical none Drop Dead wearer would wear. I really want everything that I’ve shown here and I’m sure at some point I will be the proud owner of them all!

There is a slight unicorn theme here (not intentional at all!) with the ‘I’m a Fucking Unicorn’ vest and the ‘Monokeros’ knitted jumper. The only issue with the vest is the use of the F word, which can be an issue when wearing it out.  The ‘Catsberry Ripple’ crop top is cute and it would go perfect with my Topshop Joni jeans. The ‘Peace’ pendant is really cool and would look really great when I wear a plain top to make it really stand out!

'Get To Know Me' Tag

I’ve seen this tag float around the interwebz for ages and I’m sure there are a few versions of it too. I hope to have new readers as well as my loyal readers read my blog, but even if you’re new or old to my blog, these questions will hopefully give you a little more info on me! I also did a ’20 Facts About Me’ post here if you want to read some random facts about me! I felt like I was doing one of those quizzes/surveys on MySpace that I was totally addicted too (My 16 year old self had way too much time on her hands!) so I feel like I should be adding a hXc song lyric for the title.

1. Are you named after anyone? Not that I’m aware of! I was christened Katherine, so all my documents are under Katherine but my parents also liked Katie. They’ve always said I can use Katherine for more formal situations but I highly doubt I will!

2. When was the last time you cried? The other day actually. I hardly cry anymore but I do go through periods when I cry a lot *emo alert*. It was one of those days when everything got a bit too much. Hey we all have them right?

3. Do you have kids? No! I know of plenty of people who went to my high school who all have kids but I have no desire of having any now when I openly admit to still feeling like a child myself!

4. If you were another person, would you be a friend of yourself? Yes. I feel so smug saying that but I like to be the nicest possible person I can be. I like to treat people how I would want to be treated so I think I’m easy to get along with.

5. Do you use sarcasm a lot? Not really. I only use sarcasm in situations where it’s obvious to use sarcasm as a reply. I dislike overly sarcastic people because I think it’s pretty lame when it’s over-used.

6. Will you ever bungee-jump? I hope to! My brother did a bungee-jump when he was in Spain a few years ago and I’ve always been jealous. I hate rollercoasters yet I’d happily do a bungee-jump. I realise the rationality is all over the place!

7. What's your favourite cereal? I don’t often eat cereal but I love Cinnamon Grahams (re-named to Curiously Cinnamon) and also the strawberry ones too. I love Cookie Crisp, Sugar Puffs, Rice Krispies (the normal ones and the chocolate ones too!) and bog standard cornflakes.

8. What's the first thing you notice about people? From a distance – dress sense and close up, eyes. Eyes are important because eye contact is vital and I always notice a person’s dress sense too. I don’t really check out a girl’s dress sense but I look for a good dress sense in a guy!

9. What is your eye colour? Blue and green. They’re a mixture; I don’t think they’re overly blue or overly green.

10. Scary movie or happy endings? Happy endings! C’mon I’m a girl! I do love a good horror film but I’d rarely go to see one at the cinema. I’m much more likely to see a chick flick that I know will most likely have a lovely ending.

11. Favourite smells? Fresh bread, just out of the oven cakes and buns and YSL Rive Gauche. Rive Gauche is my mum’s most worn perfume and it reminds me when I used to sit on my parent’s bed when I was younger whilst she was doing her makeup to go out.

12. Summer or winter? Mixture of the two. So basically spring even though it’s not an option! I love summer for the sunny, warm days but I also love winter for Christmas and cups of tea in front of the fire.

13. Computer or television? If I’d have to pick between keeping my laptop or TV then it’d have to be my laptop. I live for the internet, I couldn’t function without blogging or online shopping and I love messing about with Photoshop too.

14. What's the furthest you've ever been from home? I’ve never been abroad before! I know, crazyyyyy. So the furthest is probably London which is a good 4 hour car drive from Leeds.

15. Do you have any special talents? Not interesting ones! I’d love to say I could juggle/walk on stilts/speak a different language but I can’t! The only decent thing is that like every Tom Dick and Harry, I’m a dab hand at Photoshop and the like. Well I think I am! I’m definitely not as good as I used to be though.

16. Where were you born? At St James hospital in Leeds. To be precise, in some theatre because I was born via c-section. I’d love to say my mum was ‘too posh to push’ but in reality there were complications.

17. What are your hobbies? Blogging, reading and generally surfing the interwebz. I also like to think I’m a ‘mini stylist’ from time to time and create outfits from my overly-filled wardrobes when I’m insanely bored.

18. Do you have any pets? No! I have had 5 hamsters since I was 15, but they only live for around 2 years (3 if you’re Jake!) and I can’t take anymore heartbreak after finding my fluffy ball of fun, well, not so fluffy.

19. Favourite movie? I have a few! The entire Harry Potter series (picking a favourite is like picking a favourite child – if I had one – YOU JUST CAN’T), The InBetweeners and any cool 80/90s feel good movie, like Look Who’s Talking, Baby Boom, you get the drift.

20. Do you have any siblings? I’m lucky enough to have a twin brother! Hence the complications mentioned in question 16. He’s two minutes older than me, roughly two inches taller than me and actually a lot cooler than me.

21. What do you want to be when you grow up? I’m technically ‘grown up’, although I hate to admit it. After I graduate from uni I hope to be a journalist, although I’ve gone from wanting to be a vet to a graphic designer.

P.S - No one actually tagged me but I tag anyone who wants to do it! Have fun with it! :)

What I wore #1

‘Loser' t-shirt – Primark, Collar necklace – Miss Selfridge via Selfridges / Trousers – Primark, Pumps – New Look

Shirt – George, Disco pants – River Island / Floral high tops – George Teen range (available up to size 6), Jeans – Primark

Jeans – Topshop, Top – New Look, Jacket – Next, Heels – New Look, Bag – Matalan / 1D t-shirt – Gifted, Skirt (with belt) – New Look

Shirt – Primark, Jeans – Topshop, Bag – River Island, Pumps – New Look / Jeans – Topshop, Blouse – Primark (old), Blazer – Primark, Pumps – New Look

The weather has been rubbish recently, snow in March anyone? So I’ve been living in a big parka, Converse and jeans/trousers. It’s been far too cold to venture out in a dress, skirt or shorts, even with tights (apart from the 1D gig when I wore a skirt!), so I’ve stuck to crap weather friendly stuff.

Apart from my favourite pair of shoes at the moment (fake pair of Converse from New Look), I’ve found myself reaching for my new Topshop Joni jeans. They are so comfortable because of the stretch in them and the high waist means they are super flattering. I also bought two of the Primark Topshop rip off t-shirts, a navy one which says ‘Loser’ and a mint one embellished with ‘Dork’. They’re a much cheaper alternative since they’re £4 in comparison to Topshop’s £18 version.

It was pretty sunny today but I can’t wait until it’s sunny AND warm so I can get to wear lovely spring clothes!
