New In: Makeup & skincare feat Rimmel, Maybelline, MUA and more!

I’ve picked up a few (actually quite a lot!) of makeup and skincare bits recently. Thankfully roughly half was bought with my last wage and half was paid with my most recent wage, although I’m on a spending ban from now on, how long it will last I don’t know! I apologise in advance for the long post, cookies for you if you finish reading it all!

I haven’t actually worn these Katy Perry lashes yet, but I’m a massive fan of Katy and decided I had to get these. I have two other pair of lashes that I’ve never ever worn (a cheap, OTT pair and some Nicola Girls Aloud festival pair) and I really wanted some natural ones that I could get away with wearing during the day as well as at night. ‘Sweetie Pie’ is the most natural of the 4 designs so I bought those. The packaging is really cute too, although I really don’t understand the concept of the sticker?! Please let me know if you do! I On a separate occasion I bought some more of the Dove Nourishing Oil Care Deep Repair Treatment Mask, which I did a review on a few months back. I use it once a week and I only have another weeks’ worth and it was definitely a re-purchase product.

I’m not sure if I’m a fan of the Rimmel Apocolips yet. I bought ‘Luna Eclipse’ and I find it sinks in to any dry bits and doesn’t look as glossy and nice as I thought it would. I’m hoping I learn to love it soon! I’ve been using the 17 Peep Show mascara for around a year now and I love it, but I heard about a similar mascara being launched in the beginning of the year. I do like ‘Doll’d Up’, it gives my lashes length and separation but doesn’t really give me the volume I’m after so I apply a quick coat of Peep Show after. I got the 3 dot liner free when I bought the mascara and I’ve haven’t tried it yet but I’ve wanted to try one of these eyeliners after the Clarins one came out a while back.

I popped in to Superdrug a couple of weeks ago when I was out with my grandparents and I picked up one of the Maybelline Colour Tattoo cream eye shadows that have been out for ages. I’ve never really expressed an interest in these; the shades have never appealed to me but saw an offer on them so decided to take a closer look. I’ve never seen the ‘Pink Gold’ shade before; both in-store or blog reviews and it’s such a beautiful colour. I wasn’t sure how to apply this; I first started with a brush and failed, then tried my finger and blending out with a No7 blending brush which worked a treat for me.

I bought the MUA ‘Glitter Ball’ palette when I was with my Mum and she was buying it. The shades look so pretty and I can’t wait to start trying them out. MUA is my favourite brand for eye shadow palettes because they’re so cheap and the shades are beautiful. I’ve wanted to try some micellar water since Bioderma came around but I was always put off by the price. I’ve heard of B. Pure after reading about it in a Superdrug magazine. The range is exclusive to Superdrug (don’t quote me on that!) and is pretty cheap. I use face wipes when I’ve been at work and I use a Botanics cleanser to take my makeup off on regular days. I always have to wash my face after because I hate the feeling that it leaves on my skin so I was drawn to micellar waters because you don’t need to rinse after. I bought the pore strips after watching Zoe’s video; I think a lot of people have traipsed to Boots/Superdrug in the hunt of pore strips after watching her Boots haul video!

Thanks if you read all of that! I don’t blame you if you got bored or tired after reading that; it’s nearly 11pm when I’m typing this and it’s given me a headache and I’m definitely ready for bed now!

  4. Those Katy Perry lashes are my go-to ones, they look natural but make your lashes look longer and full of volume. Love them! I can't say I get the concept of the sticker either though, haha :)
