I’m not sure what I’m actually doing with my blog anymore. I’ve been uninspired for the past week, hence the lack of a blog post since the Sunday Update on 20.5. Then stuff happened and it kinda tipped how I’ve been feeling over the edge. I wasn’t sure whether to mention it but I have mentioned him on my blog quite a few times so I’m just going to have to type those words. Basically me and my boyfriend split up last night. I’ll admit it wasn’t my decision and it hurts so much. I’m gonna keep it short and simple because talking about it makes it seem real and I hate making it seem real. The way he did it hurts just as much and at first I’m upset, then I get angry about it, then I’m upset again. It’s like my head doesn’t know what emotion to settle on. My mind really isn’t on my blog, I know some people may say it will take my mind off stuff but I really need to let stuff settle first. I hope people understand. Love you guys.

Sunday Update 20/5/12

Yorkshire mentioned in Teen Vogue | Sweet girl from work saved this for me! | Amazingggg fake converse from New Look | Pretty cool article! | Damn my Dad for buying me these | Date night | Orange Circle t shirt, so many choices | You Met At Six in More! magazine.

This week has definitely not been as good as last week, oh well. I’ve not done that much apart from update my CV which hadn’t been updated since I applied for the job I’m at now which was when I was 17! Ooops. I saw my friend Danya on Thursday, who I haven’t seen since the beginning of the year! She’s started working for Benefit which I’m so jealous of! She had some of the new Sun Beam with her too, so I got to try that which is lovely! Then I went to see Dark Shadows with my boyfriend which I loved but he hated. Never mind! Have a lovely week chicks!

New Look & Neon

I love both neon and New Look, so when the two go together amazingly I’m a happy bunny. I don’t really stick to trends, I wear what I like, but I always tend to wear a few trends that creep in. In the summer, neon and pastel always come back, year after year and I love both. I’ve mentioned New Look quite a bit because I really do love New Look. I hardly ever shopped there until about 3 years ago when a New Look opened two shops away from where I work. I’m always popping in before my shift and usually coming out with a bag of goodies! New Look have some of the best neon pieces I’ve seen, including that amazing hair piece. I want that so bad! I actually have the yellow vest but in neon pink, but I want the yellow! It has a drop armhole, so you can either wear a bandeau top underneath or a bright coloured bra to clash. I personally like showing my bra a bit, not sure if it’s borderline slutty but reminds me of something Miley Cyrus wears who I love! I bought a pair of pastel pink high tops from Primark last week, which were more Converse style and I want more ‘trainery’ type high tops. The men’s t-shirt is so cute, I’m going to look for both that and the jewellery when I’m next at work! The necklace is AMAZING and it’ll look so cute with just a plain vest or t-shirt to make it stand out.

What are your favourite trends?

Soap and Glory 'Love at First Blush'

Soap and Glory 'Love at First Blush' multi-shade blushing powder

I’m a big lover of the matte look, I have really oily skin so my makeup has to be matte all the way! Powder is my fave product, it always helps stop my t zone from getting oily. The dewy kind of look is definitely not for me, although I do love the look, I just know it will make my skin look even oilier! Over the past month or so I’ve really thought about highlighters, hoping that they’d add a bit of colour to my cheeks but also highlight them and add a perk to my face. I picked this up in Boots and although it’s a little pricier than I’d normally pay for this type of product, I absolutely love it! It’s advertised more as a blush rather than just a highlighter on it’s own, but it has three shades which work really well together. It’s got some soft shimmer in, rather than harsh glitter, so this adds a nice soft highlight to my face without being too over the top. You can use each shade individually, but I find it hard to just use one because the segments of colour are too small for a blusher brush so I just use all three together. I apply it over the normal blusher that I’m using at the moment (Rimmel Mono Blusher in Santa Rose) with a blusher brush. The main positive about this is that I find it’s not too powdery, which means it doesn’t get messy with powder everywhere. I’m not sure if this is because the blusher brush I use to apply it has really soft bristles, but I’ve used it for about 2 weeks now and it looks like it hasn’t been used yet! I will probably end up re-purchasing it when it runs out, but I reckon it will last me ages!

Do you like Soap and Glory cosmetics? Let me know!

Sunday Update 13/5/12

Finally bought this after I decided to get it online because I can’t find a Superdrug near me that stock it! | Love New Look jewellery | Still watching Disney classics at 22! | Yummm | Bought these on Friday | Woke up to a lovely sunny day today | Started re-reading Spiderman Loves Mary-Jane, I feel like I’m 17 again | Forgotten how good this album is.

I hate doing late Sunday Updates (becoming more and more frequent!), I try not to let them become late but if there are it’s because I’ve been out all day Sunday and haven’t had time to put it together before I go out. I’ve had such a good week and I'll probably I’ll ramble on a bit, I apologise now!

Last Saturday I stayed over at my boyfriends after work which is nice but I had to go into Leeds city centre at 9pm to get the bus to his and clubs are starting to get busy and there’s me walking round in my work uniform and most girls are in short dresses and heels! Awwkward. I decided to treat myself to a little Primark spree on Tuesday, I haven’t been to Primark since London and just over a month are ages for me to not go to Primark! I only spent just short of £40, but I did get quite a bit! I went on my own too, I hate shopping on my own but it was pretty fun. Thursday was my boyfriend’s birthday so I went to go see him. I bought him a Liverpool shirt and got his surname on the back and his favourite player’s number on the back too. He loves it and he’s been wearing it non-stop too. I had Friday and Saturday off work, so I decided to go see my Nanna on Friday. I trekked all the way to my Nanna’s and it turns out she was out even though she said she’d be in! I ended up going back into town and meeting up with my boyfriend instead and we went shopping for a bit then went to Starbucks, cute! Saturday I stayed over at Dave’s again and spent all day Sunday watching rubbish Sunday TV. It’s pretty obvious that I’ve spent the majority of the past week with Dave, he’s probably bored of seeing me now!

Hope you have a lovely week dolls!

Wish List

I hardly ever do wish lists because when I do I never get round to actually getting what I want! I’m determined to get everything on my list at some point of my life though! I have a notebook by my bed that I use to write stuff that I want so I don't forget! So here's some of the things I want!

Topshop Vectra4 canvas studded slippers Everyone has these shoes and I want some so bad! I love the new mint green versions, so cute! I’m not sure if I can splash out £28 for them though, some people may think it’s a reasonable price but I personally think it’s a tad overpriced!

Avon Ideal Flawless Invisible Coverage foundation I’ve wanted to try this ever since it came out because they seem to have a nice pale shade (light pink) that hopefully will be a good match for me! I’ve heard it’s pretty good too, so I’m hoping to try it soon!

Benefit The Porefessional primer I’ve heard really good reviews on this too and my friend has just got a job at a Benefit makeup counter (so jealous it’s unbelievable!) so I’m hoping to go and see her and get her to try and persuade be to spend £23.50 on it!

bareMinerals SPF 15 Original foundation I'm hoping that when my skin gets better I can give this a go. I really want to wear less makeupo and have that ‘I'm wearing makeup but you can hardly tell’ kinda look, especially in the summer.

Benefit Boi-ing concealer Industiral strength concealer? Not sure if that’s something you want to hear when you’re putting this on your face, but I want a heavier concealer for days when I have massive dark circles under my eyes which is becoming more common.

Illamasqua powder blush in ‘Katie’ I think it’s pretty obvious why I want this blusher! The colour is really nice too, to be honest, I’d probably still want to buy it even if it was a colour I wouldn’t ever wear. I really like ‘Unrequited’ too.

Estee Lauder Idealist Even Skintone Illuminator This is bloody expensive stuff, but I really want it to get rid of annoying blemish and acne marks. I’m sure I’ll bite the bullet at some point in my life and actually get this!

Sunday Update 6/5/12

Date night with the boyfriend (finally got to see Cabin In The Woods after I scheduled the other weeks Sunday Update saying I was going to see it but plans changed last minute!)| Not the best film ever but I’ll watch anything with Seth Rogen in | Loveee my Vans, I added Primark cherry laces! | Got the bag of the moment | Date night outfit (wore the unicorn tshirt with black skinny jeans) | Gorgeous walk on Monday | The rain made me wear my snugly winter PJs | Found my Drop Dead shorts from when I was 17.

I’ve had a lovely week, it’s been filled with a lovely summery (for one day only!) walk near a canal, a date night to see Cabin In The Woods and a night in with my boyfriend. I stayed over last night after I finished work which was nice. I woke up this morning to another lovely sunny day! I’m not particular fussed about whether it’s hot or not, I just love waking up to see sunshine. It really does put a smile on my face! It’s my boyfriend’s birthday on Thursday, I think we’re going to go for something to eat and drinks to celebrate him becoming 2 years closer to the big 3-0. There’s a 6 year age gap but he has a baby face like me and he always gets mistaken for being much younger than he is! Have a lovely week guys!

Rubbish beauty/cosmetic packaging

I only thought of doing this post the other night when I was applying the gel I’ve been using for the past 4 months or so for my skin. I’ll go into more detail on that later, but it made me realise how some beauty and cosmetic packaging really is crap! I haven’t come across loads of rubbish packaging, just a few that I’ve collected to show you guys. It really bugs me when packaging for stuff proves so useless and sometimes I really think that companies haven’t put much thought into the way they package products. These are they types of packaging I’ve come across that really does annoy me!

Metal tubes
It’s mainly medicine type products that come in metal tubes, like PanOxyl which I’m using for my skin. I never really thought anything of it when I first got it, I thought it looked and felt really nice. The metal is soft, so it’s easy to squeeze the product out only as I’ve been using it I’ve noticed a problem. I only squeeze it near the top to get the product out, I haven’t bent the tube on purpose, just because it’s soft metal it has become a little bent in places. This wouldn’t bother me if it doesn’t cause the tube to split in places. As you can see from the second image, the tube has quite a big split, which causes it to leak when I squeeze the top of the tube. I've still got quite a lot left, so I wouldn’t normally re-purchase it yet, but I’m going to have to go out and buy another because I’m worried (and kind of annoyed!) that germs and stuff will get into the split and make it go all manky. Urgh! There’s probably a logical reason why they put stuff like this in metal tubes, maybe it’s more sterile, but surely they’re another alternative!

Pump based packaging
I’ve come across two types of pump based packaging that annoys me! Both packaging that you can see the product inside and packaging that you can’t see the product. I’ve been using Vichy Normaderm for a little over a month now and I love the product, but I hate the packaging! It came in a box and I did buy this based on seeing an advert which included the product but at the time I couldn’t remember how the product was packaged (nor did I actually care at the time!). The bottle is really rubbish because it comes with a fixed pump and no way of seeing the product. So at the moment I have no idea how much product I have left. Useless! The foundation that I’m currently using is Maybelline SuperStay 24hr. The foundation uses the same fixed pump, only this time comes in a glass bottle. Yay you can actually see the product! Well kind of. You can actually see the product which is good, only I’m guessing it’s because the foundation is thickish, but as it gets used, it doesn’t seem to fall to the bottom of the bottle. I’ve been using the bottle in the image for the about a month and a half and it still looks like they’re loads left. This is the second bottle that I’ve bought and the first one left me with foundation on my clothes, in my hair and on my bedroom wall after I used to pair of scissors to try and pull the pump off. Ooops. It was only after the pump wouldn’t work (I didn’t know if the pump was dodgy or if I’d run out of foundation) that I decided to try and pull the pump off (which went flying across my room) and I realised I had no foundation left. I always buy more foundation before I run out so I’m not left without any foundation when I run out.

Rant over! Is there any beauty/cosmetic packaging that really annoys you? I’d love to hear what packaging gets on your nerves!

Zara messenger bag

Everyone and their mother seem to have the Zara messenger bag at the moment, it’s definitely one of those things that once you see one blogger with, you have to rush out and buy it. I first saw it on Daisybutter, only Michelle has it in black. Then it’s cropped up on other blogs and giveaways and after seeing it a million times, I decided I have to have it! I’m a bag girl over a shoe girl, I have 3 big boxes stuffed with bags in my room. Oh dear.

It was a bargain at £19.99, which is so cheap and its amazing quality. I love everything about this bag, the shape, the feel, the colour. It’s a nice size, so I know I’ll be able to fit everything I normally have in my bag with room for extra bits and bobs. The delivery on this was amazing, which sounds a bit sad but it really was good! I ordered it Wednesday afternoon and got it Monday afternoon, which isn’t particularly super quick, but I got an email Friday night saying it had been dispatched and I got a text Sunday afternoon from the courier company saying it’d be delivered on Monday. Then Monday morning I got a text from the courier saying it’d be delivered between 14.44 and 15.44. I just love how I was kept updated on what day it would get delivered and at what time, even with an option of changing the delivery date by text. I was so happy with the service, I knew exactly when I would get my parcel!

If you go down to the woods today..

Technically it was a canal and not a wood, but I couldn't think of a catchy title with canal in it!

Yesterday me and Anna went for our usual walk on a Monday. We’ve been doing this for the past month or so and it’s mainly for exercise. We do about 4/5 miles every week and it’s probably not a lot but I never exercise so this makes me feel a bit better! We decided since it was gorgeous weather yesterday and it wasn’t raining for once, that we’d do a pretty scenic route. We opted for a canal which is about 2 miles from where we live. I just had to share these photos that I took when we got there, so picturesque! I took them on my phone, I never thought of taking my camera because I didn’t think it would be as pretty as it was! There’s some picnic benches too, so next time we’re going to take a little picnic with us! And some bread too, once the ducks in the lake clocked us, they all came out thinking we had bread for them! We also saw a baby rabbit (seriously wanted to take him/her home but that’ll be unethical) and a mummy and daddy duck with some little baby ducks. I love having a wander around places that I’ve never been before, or even heard of in this case!
