It's beautiful people like you, who suck the life right outta my heart

Jumper: H&M
Vest (underneath): New Look
Shorts: Primark
Tights: Primark
Ballet pumps: Primark
Jewellery: New Look, River Island, Stall on holiday, Clarie’s

First outfit post! I’m not sure if I’ll do these a lot, I prefer to do posts on beauty stuff and random bits. It’s probably because it’s more effort to set up my camera and get some decent photos of what I’m wearing. Also what I wear never particularly stands out as ‘fashiony’ or is something I think people will be like “Wow love your outfit”. But I thought I’d give it a go! I’m not as posey as I used to be, back in the MySpace days I’d take shed loads of photos of myself (oh dear!) and I’d look ok in them, these days I take an ok photo once in a blue moon. These will have to do!

This is what I wore on Sunday when I went to my boyfriend’s although I had to do a quick last minute change and change the shorts for black skinny jeans because it was mega raining! Without wanting to sound like a fashion geek, I’m kind of channelling the S’S 12 trend of pastels which is my favourite trend of S’S. I don’t really ‘do’ trends because they change so much, but pastels were in last S’S I think? I love pastel colours, so cute and summery. I got the jumper last year and it’s a really nice soft pink. It’s getting a bit big on me now because I’ve lost a bit of weight since I bought it. I bought the shorts ages ago but they were a bit tight but they fit me now! In fact I think they’re a little bit too big on me! I got the pumps from Primark a few weeks ago for £4. Got to love Primark prices! They won’t last me forever, but I have a million pairs of ballet bumps because I wear them all the time, the only time I don’t is if it’s raining or snowing. I get most of my ballet pumps from Primark as well, so they don’t break the bank and I tend to rotate them quite a lot!

Sunday Update 29/1/12

1 – Enjoyed a nice cup of tea and this weeks More! magazine. The perfect way to spend an evening!
2 – The two rings I’ve been wearing the most recently; L-R, Clarie’s and Accessorize.
3 – New phone! It's my baby!

Hope you’re all well guys! My week has been really good! Monday me and Anna got our train tickets for London! Just two months to go! So excited! We’re going for four days and we plan on getting drunk (standard!), sightseeing and shopping of course! Tuesday I met up with a friend from college who I haven’t seen since before Christmas so it’s always nice to see her and have a catch-up over a Starbucks! Got my new phone Monday as well! I’ve had to get used to it with it being touch screen, but I absolutely love it! Today I’m going to my boyfriends’ which I’m really excited for because I haven’t seen him in a week! :)

Thank you to everyone who’s support me and my blog over the past few months, I really appreciate all of your comments! I was told recently that I seem really lovely and genuine! Comments like that really do make me smile and make me feel like I’m doing this blog for a reason! My blog may not be the most popular but I’m more interested in making sure my readers enjoy reading my blog! Don’t forget to follow me on Twitter if you haven’t yet! Have a good one guys!

I hate to break it to you but you're just a lonely star

I got a new phone guys! I mentioned in my last post how I’ve gone from a BlackBerry to a Samsung! I absolutely love it! My Dad has the same phone and I secretly wanted to steal his, until I decided to bite the bullet and buy my own. It looks like an iPhone which I’m sure you’ve noticed; only I have a love/hate relationship with Apple, since my iPod has died and come back to life on me so many times. So I really didn’t want to take a risk and get an iPhone, so this is my alternative. I have to get used to it being touch screen and it’s taking me a bit longer to text, where as on a BlackBerry I could write an essay practically in a minute.

I also mentioned in my last post how I had to format my USB pen, which meant I had to loose all of my stuff! I’ve managed to get more or less it all back because most of the stuff I had elsewhere and thankfully I had the 700+ One Direction photos I’ve collected over the past year on another USB pen so they’re all safe! Major fan girl!

I’m going to post some fashiony kind of stuff at some point, I apologise if you’re disappointed to have not seen any yet! I’m in a bit of a situation at the minute with clothes because since around October I’ve been on a diet and I’ve lost nearly a stone since then. I’ve managed to get into some things I’ve bought which didn’t fit me at the time which is great, but some stuff I love is getting ridiculously big on me! I’m going on a massive shopping spree before London to get some nice clothes to take, but until then I’m too poor to buy basically a new wardrobe :(

Hope you’re having a nice week so far guys!

Sunday Update 22/1/12

I haven’t had chance to take any photos on my BlackBerry this week, I feel like I’ve been really busy and I’ve just not had the chance to! The photo was taken from our hotel bedroom last March in London when me and Anna went to celebrate our 21sts, which are 12 days apart! We’re going again in March and we got the hotel booked over the weekend and we picked up the train tickets today. So excited! I’ve gone from a faithful BlackBerry user for nearly 2 years to a Samsung user! I bought a Samsung Galaxy Ace over the weekend and it came today! I’ve been getting it all set up this afternoon and trying to get used to it! My Dad has the same phone so I’m getting him to help me get it all sorted! Also I think my USB pen is corrupted as well, I have to format it which looses all my stuff! So annoyed its unreal, I have all my blog stuff on there and photos! I have to try and find all my stuff on other computers and USB pens I have kicking around to try and get most of my stuff back! :(

What's in my make up bag

I’ve wanted to do one of these posts for ages but I’ve never got round to doing one. Everyone likes to have a nosey at what make up other bloggers use on a regular basis, it’s a great way of learning about new products and products that you've wanted to try for ages but never have. I don’t use every bit of make up featured everyday because I’ve been trying to rotate what I use everyday so I get to try something new rather than sticking to the same product everyday. I won’t go into detail with every product, but I will mention some of my fave things! The make up bag is from Primark which was about £2.50 I think, but I’ve had it ages! It says ‘Pretty’ on the side, which I’m not that keen on but I like the flowery print and it’s a really good size to hold all of my stuff!

Face 1 L-R / Benefit It Stick, Rimmel Match Perfect concealer in 010 Ivory, Simple Oil Balancing moisturiser, Witch Skin Clearing primer, Garnier B.B Cream in Light.

I use all of this stuff to prepare my skin for when I put my foundation and powder on top. I actually put concealer on after foundation but I stuck it with the stuff I use before foundation for some reason and didn’t realise until I’d taken the photo! Ooops. Some people use just B.B cream on it’s own without foundation (lucky people!) but my skin is really awful at the moment, so I use it just to even redness out before I put foundation on.

Face 2 L-R / Maybelline Super Stay 24H in 005 Light Beige, L’Oreal Infallible brush in015 Porcelain, Maybelline The Eraser in 020 Cameo, Natural Collection powder in Neutral, Collection 200 Shine Away powder in 1 Light, Natural Collection blusher in Pink Cloud, Benefit PosieTint.

I’ll rotate what foundation I use because I love them all and sometimes it’s nice to have a change! The PosieTint was free in Glamour magazine agessss ago and I absolutely love it, it’s the nicest pink ever. I’m thinking about buying a full size, but it’s £24.50 for 12ml and I’m not sure if I can bring myself to spend just under £25 on a nail varnish size bottle!

Eyes L-R / Beauty UK Metallic eye quad in No1, 17 eye trio in Enraged, No7 Intense Volume mascara, Bourjois Khol & Contour eyeliner, 17 Peep Show mascara.

It took me a while to find the perfect eyeliner, one that didn’t drag on my skin and one that didn’t look grey when I put it on over a bit of powder on my eyelids. This one is the best I’ve ever used; I’ve been using it for years now. I only recently bought this mascara but it’s amazing!

Accessories L-R / Models Own angled brush, H&M double ended brush, Primark eyelash curlers.

I use the Models Own brush to put a line of eyeshadow on my top lid. I don’t often put eyeshadow on my entire eyelid any more; it’s much quicker to just do a line of it! The H&M brush was about £1.99 I think and it’s perfect for saving space in my makeup bag, I have my powder brush and foundation brush all in one!

I'll do my best to always be on your mind

I popped into town yesterday to meet up with my boyfriend, although my ulterior motive was to get some goodies from the Look makeup range (shhh I didn’t tell him that!). I didn’t actually manage to get my hands on what I wanted (some foundation and a nail varnish) because the two Superdrugs in Leeds city centre don’t stock it, it’s only a Superdrug in this big shopping centre that’s a two bus journey trek and an actual pain to get to that stock it. Gutted! Whilst I was in Superdrug I did manage to get these two gorgeous MUA eye shadows, in shade 11 and shade 24. The swatches on my hand are L-R, shade 11 and shade 24. I have a few MUA eye shadows, including a palette and I absolutely love them. They have a strong pigment and blend in really well. At a quid each you really can’t go wrong! I haven’t tested them out yet but I can’t wait to!

I then went into Body Care which is a shop that my Mum ALWAYS goes in whenever she passes it, you can actually get some pretty nice bargains in there! I actually went in to see if they had some makeup storage things because what I use for my makeup at the moment is really starting to over flow. I couldn’t find anything but I found this nail polish at a steal at 99p! I’ve always found that Technic is one of those brands that you see here and there, usually in a quid shop but I saw a post on ETC LLYMLRS and Technic do a OPI Rainbow Connection look-a-like that’s so much cheaper! It’s really hard to find, most places online have sold out and the Body Care I went to had a space for them but they were sold out. I got this pink glitter polish in ‘Party Pink’ and wasn’t sure if it’d be any good and how many coats I’d have to put on for it to look half decent. I put some on last night and I absolutely adore it! I put 3 coats on, to get a really good coverage and it looks amazing. Reminds me of the effect you get with those glitter nail wraps, where it’s basically all glitter. It's actually similar to the Look one that I was on a hunt for, which retails for £5 I think, so I saved myself £4! The only down side to it is that it has a really strong smell, which is what you expect with nail polishes, just this one has that smell of those really crap ones you got when you were a kid!

I got this amazingggg jumper from work on Friday. It’s so cute! I love anything with a peter pan collar (I realise people are so over them but I still love them!) and the leopard print on the collar adds to the cuteness! I wore it yesterday with some burgundy shorts and leopard print pumps, so cute!

Hope you guys are all ok, don’t forget you can follow me on Twitter!

Sunday Update 15/1/12

1 – Got You Me At Six’s new album for Christmas, I’ve been listening to it none stop since! Check out ‘Crash’ if you’re after a heartfelt slow kind of song, so good!
2 – Haribo and Maltesers for today! Yum!
3 – Got this post in this week’s More magazine. They mentioned in it last weeks issue and I totally forgot about it till I opened it and say Harry’s gorgeous face. Definitely going on my wall!

It’s been a pretty boring week, nothing much has happened! Went out with Anna on Monday and I spent some of my Boots points, as mentioned in this post. I was so excited to spent some; I got just under £50 worth of stuff for free! Win. My boyfriend is meeting my brother today (this is a scheduled post because I’m going to be super buys today!), which I’m nervous about but I know they’ll get on SO well because they’re so alike it’s unreal! They like the same music, both play a similar instrument (brother plays bass, bf plays the guitar), both like comics and both are X-Box addicts. So I know they’ll get on well! My boyfriend is coming round to mine for the first time whilst my parents are away for the weekend, so I bought us loads of Haribo and chocolate to eat and we’ll probably watch DVDs all day! Also, you can follow me on Twitter hereHope you guys have had a nice weekend!

Boots Advantage card haul

As promised yesterday, I’m sharing with you guys what I bought with my Boots Advantage card points. I’ve mentioned before how I have an insane amount of points, £91 worth to be precise (before I spent some!) and I was planning to save up to £100 then spend them, but they’ve recently been burning a hole in my pocket and I’ve been dying to spend some! I’m sure you guys all have one; if you don’t then I’d definitely recommend getting one! For every £1 you spend you get 4 points and every point is equal to 1p. I've been collecting mine for about four years (crazy I know!) because I spend SO much in Boots. It also doesn't help that there’s a Boots right opposite where I work! I never thought of spending any until recently due to my current beauty obsession that I’m going through at the moment! I finally caved in and used just under £50 worth of points on some bits and bobs.  I still have about £41 left, so I’m going to continue to save those until I find something else I want to buy with them.

On the day of spending them I ran out of primer and I’m nearly out of the foundation I use, so I bought some more of those. I use Witch Anti-Blemish Skin Clearing primer which is £6.99 for 30ml. I don’t really think it clears up my blemishes, I still get spots, but I tend to buy skin care products aimed at spots and blemishes in the hope they’ll sort my skin out! The foundation I bought is Maybelline The Eraser, which I’ve been using for about 6 months now. Before that I used the Dream Matte Mousse which I used for about 4 years, until I got a bit bored and felt the need to experiment a bit! There’s an offer on for buy 1 get a 2nd half price at Boots at the moment, so I bought another foundation, which is the Super Stay 24h non-transfer foundation. I tested this the other day when I was at work and liked how it doesn’t transfer because my makeup always seems to transfer on some item of clothing! My favourite product that I bought with my points is my Yves Saint Laurent Elle gift set. I was undecided for a while between Elle, Belle D’Opium and Parisienne but decided to go for Elle. It comes with some body lotion and shower gel which I probably don’t want to use because they look so pretty! I always buy perfume from Next because it’s generally a tenner a bottle and they always do really nice scents. I’m going to use my YSL extremely sparingly! The box is really cute as well and I’m going to use it to store makeup because it’ll look so pretty on my dressing table!

What’s your best buy using your Boots points? Let me know!

Sunday Update 9/1/12

1&2 – Had a clearout of my wardrobe the other day and realised I own way too many tights and that my family and I have massive collection of Converse!
3 – I was given this massive One Direction sign from someone at work who saw it and thought of me…legend! I had my eye on it when I saw it on the shop floor back in November and asked someone to save it for me but thought they’d forgotten about it. Made my day!
4 – Spent just over half of my Boots advantage card points, sneak peek of what I got! I’ll do a post about it tomorrow!

I haven’t done a Sunday Update since the week before Christmas, eek! Obviously the week after was Christmas and the week after that was New Years and I’ve been super busy! I couldn’t get round to doing it yesterday either because I went to my boyfriends and today I’ve been busy sorting out the rest of my room. I like to be really organised and I hate it when my room gets messy so I always have to have a big clearout whenever it gets looking messy! I’m going to do a post tomorrow about my goodies I bought in Boots using my advantage card points, I felt so happy getting free stuff!

Beauty Haul

Two posts in one day! I’ve been planning this post since just after Christmas because I’ve recently endured a beauty binge since just after Christmas. I don’t often buy loads of makeup, I only tend to buy stuff I need like new foundation and powder when I run out. I’ll buy a new lipstick or eyeshadow every now and then, but I try to keep non essentials to a minimum otherwise I’ll spend LOADS. I’ve always loved makeup, but in the past month or so I’ve gone beauty mad and I’ve been checking out beauty blogs more than fashion ones, when it’s usually the other way round.

After Christmas I bought a few things from E.L.F, which is a brand that I’ve been dying to buy something from for ages but I never got round to. I bought most of the products mentioned in this post bar two.

E.L.F Mineral Foundation in Fair
The mineral foundation is not as good as I was hoping, but I still like it. The pot is smaller than I expected and the coverage isn’t as good as I hoped. I thought the coverage might be more buildable than I’ve found and it doesn’t cover up any redness. My skin has been really bad since about March, so I’m hoping when my skin finally stops acting like a teenagers', I’ll be able to use this a bit more.

E.L.F Kabuki Brush (Face)
I’ve been after a kabuki brush for ages and this one is a steal at £3.50. The handle is metal, so it feels a nice quality. The only let down for me if that it sheds so much! I literally only have to grab it lightly and pull and quite a lot of bristles come out. It’s nice and cheap, so I’m not too bothered if I have to buy another one in six months time!

E.L.F Studio Makeup Mist & Set
I was really happy when I bought the Studio Makeup Mist & Set because it’s currently part of the sale and has 30% off, making it a mega cheap buy at £2.45. I hope this doesn’t mean they’re discontinuing it because I love it! I can’t think of a good way to describe it apart from it does what it says on the tin; it sets my makeup. I use it once I’ve applied all of my makeup and it gets rid of any powderyness and adds a dewy finish.

Collection 2000 Shine Away compact powder in Light
I saw this Collection 2000 powder at work, but I had to buy it from Boots because they only had one of my shade and someone lovingly decided to try a bit. Nice. It comes in 3 shades, Light, Medium and Deep and I bought Light. The thing that attracted me to it is that it states that it controls shine up for up to 10 hours and minimises breakouts. I’ve been using it for just under a week and it’s definitely one of my favourite products at the moment. I go through powder really quickly, so I usually buy a Natural Collection powder that’s £1.99, but I constantly have to blot my face during the day. I’ve yet to do this with the Collection 2000 powder, even when I’ve had my makeup on from 1pm to 10pm when I’ve been at work. My face isn’t completely shine free and matte like it is when I first put my makeup on, but it is definitely more shine free than usual.

17 Peep Show mascara in Black

I’m a big fan of 17 mascaras and the one I used to buy has been discontinued I think because I can’t find it anymore! I can’t remember the name but I think it had something with volume in?! I’m really gutted because it was one of the first ones with a plastic comb type of brush and it really separated my lashes. Since when I’ve been using the odd one that I’ve bought to try and fill the void that my other mascara has left and I saw this new one from 17 again. It one of ones that supposedly creates a ‘false lashes’ effect. It has fibres in, which is pretty cool and it doesn’t create the false lash effect that I was hoping, but it doesn’t clump and leaves my lashes nicely separated with volume.

Simple Clear Skin Oil Balancing moisturiser

I’ve wanted a new moisturiser for a while, the one I’m currently using is a Boots tea tree and witch hazel one that is a bit watery and can sometimes make my skin sting. I sometimes sneak a bit of my mum’s Simple light moisturiser when my skin is feeling super sensitive and it really helps sooth the areas that are sensitive (which is usually my cheeks). I bought this one from Boots after I was looking for an oil free one. It’s oil free and helps control shine which is good for me because I have the worst oily T-Zone ever! I can only tell if a moisturiser is good when it’s sunk into my skin, I usually hate it if it’s left an oily residue and love it if it’s nicely sunk in and left my skin really soft. It does exactly this and it also leaves my skin looking nice and matte.

What products are you loving at the moment? Let me know!

Versatile Blogger Award

Hi guys! Hope you’re all well! A couple of days before Christmas, Mona from Chipped Nails and Chapped Lips contacted me to let me know she’s passed on the Versatile Blogger Award to me! Mega exciting! I’ve literally only had chance to post about it now, what with Christmas. New Years and work in between. So massive thanks to Mona, who put a smile on my face before I faced a long day at work.

There’s some rules for the award, here they are;
1. You must thank the person who awarded you the award including a shout-out with a link on your blog.
2. Share 7 random facts about yourself.
3. Send the award on to 15 other bloggers whose blogs you like to read and let them know about it.
So here’s my seven facts (sorry if they’re boring, I’m not the most interesting person!);

1. I have a twin brother who’s two minutes older than me. I use this as an ‘interesting fact’ for loads of things and it’s not the most interesting thing ever but I do always get an “Oh I didn’t realise you’re a twin!” kind of response. It’s pretty cool because we get to share a birthday and we got to start high school together in the same form so we had someone to talk to so it wasn’t as scary. We share some similar friends, although we have separate groups from work and stuff.

2. The majority of my wage gets spent on magazines every month. I buy around 4-5 weekly ones and basically all monthly ones. I went through a stage of keeping them all, until I had a massive pile that was in danger of collapsing in my room, so I’ve had a few clear outs in the past few months, which was really painful at first but I’m getting used to now. Kind of.

3. I’d been debating whether to do a blog for well over a year before I took the plunge and created one. It’s probably one of the best decisions I’ve ever made because I’m so addicted to it and I’ve met some really lovely people!

4. My favourite band of all time is One Direction (in case you didn’t already know that…), but a lot of people are surprised to know that some of my fave bands include My Chemical Romance, A Day To Remember, Deaf Havana, You Me At Six, All Time Low… the list goes on. I often get “you don’t look like you’d like MCR” and stuff, mainly because I’ve grown out of the stage of wearing black all the time, loads of eyeliner and wearing nothing but Converse with skinny jeans. My music taste is pretty diverse, but my faves are definitely rock and pop!

5. I’m just under a thousand Boots Advantage Card points away from £100 to spend. I’m not sure why this is a random fact, it’s definitely random though! I’ve never spent any of my points; I’ve just been saving them for saving them sake. Once I get to £100, I’m planning on buying some perfume and loads of makeup with it.

6. I once had a letter published in the letters page in Grazia magazine. I’d written in about an article in the previous weeks’ issue that I could relate to. I was really proud and I didn’t expect it to be printed so it was definitely an ‘OMG OMG’ moment when I saw my letter.

7. I walked past You Me At Six once in Leeds and I was way too star struck to say hi. Biggest mistake ever.

Here are some of my favourite blogs and bloggers!

Hello 2012

Happy New Year! Just had to say that! How was your New Years guys? I spent New Years Eve working then I went to my boyfriend’s which was pretty nice. I’ve put together a really small selection of photos from the past year of my favourite things and memories. My trip to London in March is featured and my obsession with One Direction and Harry Potter is also shown. 2011 marked the last ever Harry Potter film, sob! Grown up with Harry and the gang so it was pretty emotional seeing the last ever film! In 2011 I’ve gained quite a lot and lost hardly anything (apart from the odd Twitter and Tumblr follower here and there). I gained a boyfriend in 2011 *squeee* who is so amazing!. I’ve made my first ever proper blog, which I’m so glad I finally got round to doing it because it’s so addictive! I also joined Twitter (technically joined in 09) but only started using it more in 2011. I also received a Triple Distinction in Journalism in June, which I’m so proud of! I haven’t really made any New Years resolutions, I never really have! I’d never stick to them anyway! Have you guys made any resolutions?

Have a lovely Holiday Monday guys! Hope you guys like the new layout, I’ve had it ready for a few weeks, but wanted to switch in the New Year. Just a slight change in the background and a new header. I got really bored with the old one so thought it’d be a nice change for the New Year! Also a MASSIVE thank you to my lovely readers and followers, you all made me day when I see a new follower or comment!
