Happy Halloween!

Mary-Kate and Ashley - Double, Double, Toil and Trouble DVD

I already had another post in mind for today, I even started writing it, but decided to get in the halloween spirit a little bit. This is the only halloween DVD I own, apart from the typical gory horror films, going to watch this soon! I've loved the Olsen twins since I first discovered them when I was about twelve, I have loads of their books and DVDs! I even have a MK+A curling wand, random of what?

I never really get into the halloween spirit that much, apart from watching all the films they seem to put on TV. I always think halloween is just an excuse to go out and get drunk. That might make myself boring, and I'll probably go back on my word and get into the spirit at some point. I think it's cool when you see people dress up at their work place, we had loads at mine, but I only found out the day before and it was a bit too last minute to sort a costume out!

There's been some pretty exciting things happening in my life recently, the main exciting thing is getting to see my lovelyAnna all the time! I've got a few planned posts that will be in within the next week or so and Im also going to do an about me page, just to give you a little bit more about me!

Do you like to get into the halloween spirit? Leave your comments below! :)

We found love in a hopeless place

The beautiful girl in the last two photos is Anna! I've known Anna since I was about four, we both went to the same nursery and primary school and we used to live more or less opposite eachother till I moved when I was six. We went to different high schools but when we were eleven, we promised to never lose contact and ten years later we're still as close as ever.  The bottom two photos were taken at the charity fashion show me and Anna went to on Sunday night. It was hosted by First Direct to raise money for NSPCC and Breast Cancer Care. It was a really fun night and the fact that it was hosted to raise money for charity made it even better. The top photo is what I wore on Monday when Anna came round for tea. I've been wanting a pair of burgundy jeans for ages, I have a pair of shorts in the same colour and it's such a nice autumn/winter colour to make me feel all cosy. I got mine from New Look and are such a bargin at £16.99. They're nice and cosy and a really nice fit. I wore my H&M leopard print pumps which I actually adore, but they start to hurt after half an hour!

Apologies for the crap quality photos, typical Blackberrys! As you've probably have already guessed, the title of the post is from Rihanna's new song, We Found Love. I don't really like Rihanna apart from the odd song, but I kind of like this one. I love the video even more, how good is her English accent!

What's in my bag?

To start off my posts, I thought I’d go for a fail safe ‘What’s in my bag?’ type of post. If you’re nosey like me (curious as I like to say!), then there’s nothing more that I like to see on blogs than these type of posts. Everyone has either done one of these types of posts, or are thinking of it, and us girls (and guys!) seem to always want to have a nosey at what the other is carrying around with them everyday. This is basically what I carry around everyday, with everything hauled out of my bag and photographed for you to have a peek at.

I got the bag from Primark a few weeks ago after I’ve been eyeing it up for ages. It comes in a light burgundy colour as well, but I always like to play safe with neutral colours for bags. It was £9, and the lining inside is what really made me grab it and run to the tills. I haven’t taken a photo of the lining, but it’s a cute cream and brown checked/tartan pattern. I’m such a sucker for cute linings in bags and coats! The cute flower punch out detail on the straps makes it seem more expensive than a £9 Primark job! The union jack purse is from River Island, which I bought about a year/year and a half ago. This is one of my favourite purses, and I always switch over every couple of months or so, but this is always going to be my fave! The lining inside is cute leopard print as well! (Told you I love cute linings!) The makeup bag is from Primark, which always contains an eyeliner, lipstick, lip balm, packet of tissues and my Jack Wills mirror. For obvious reasons, I always have my phone in my bag and my iPod. I like to carry a bottle of water round with me and there’s always a name badge for work ticking around in the bottom of my bag!

Me and my friend Anna are going to a charity fashion show hosted my First Direct yesterday, which was really good!  More on the show and Anna later!

Hello and welcome to Fireworks! Fireworks is owned by me, Katie! I'm 21 and I live inLeeds. The blog came about after my addiction to fashion, beauty and lifestyle blogs. There’s a long list of blogs that I would check out daily and these have all inspired me to create my own blog. I’m not sure if anyone will be interested to read what I have to say, but I’ve just completed a BTEC National Diploma in Journalism and I love to write things down! So I thought I’d give blogging a try. Fireworks will be filled with everything that I love, from fashion and beauty features, to everyday going ons. Fireworks is mega new, so I’d really appreciate it if you could spread the word around! If you have any suggestions or questions, please feel free to email me here! Over the next few days, they'll be a lot of tweaking and editing of the blog to get it 100% perfect, but I'll still be posting! Hope you enjoy my blog!
